FBR REPORT: Letter From a Karen Pastor
Karen State, Burma
1 May, 2005

Dear friends,

This is a letter we received from a Karen pastor in Northern Karen State, Burma. His village was attacked numerous times by the Burma Army and in 2004 his home was burned to the ground by Burma Army troops. We visited his village while on a relief mission to an area under attack in June 2004. We visited him again on another relief mission in January this year. He gave us the letter below. I wanted to share it with you because it is a thank you for all of you too.

The pastor and his wife have rebuilt their home and hosted part of our team on our recent mission. Every time I see them, they are smiling. They told me, “Don’t worry God will take of us. God is good and we pray for you too”. The pastor can only speak a few words of english and I was told that he worked a long time to write this letter of thanks. It is addressed to one of us but it is for all of us and you.

Thank you and God bless you all,

Your team here at CCB and FBR

Dear Sir,

Happy New Year to you, your family. I wanted to thank you so much, but I can’t. When my house was burned and we were in need, you give 1,000 Baht for my family, 1,000 Baht for the teachers and clothes, medicine for our villagers, also 1,000 Baht for the church.

Thank you very much for your kindness to us, we were in scarcity and in most difficulty. We don’t have nothing to reward you. We pray from God to guide and take care of you and fulfilled you needs.

Lastly, May the good Lord blessed and keep you forever.

Your Sincerely,

Shwe Thoo
