On May 4, 2017, the Free Burma Rangers Iraq team helped rescue a family who had been shot while trying to flee ISIS sniper fire. During the rescue, a daughter, Aisha, and her father were shot again. Our translator, Shaheen, was also shot during the rescue and later died. Muhammad, our Iraqi friend, was shot six times while rescuing Shaheen. This video tells more of the rescue story, Shaheen’s sacrifice, and what happened afterward.

The original rescue report is available here and an additional follow-up report is available here.
