Syria Photo Essay: Critical Situation as Families Continue to Flee

6 February 2019

Syria

Dear friends,

Thank you for praying for us as we bring help, hope, and love to families fleeing the last ISIS stronghold here in Syria. We are near the front where no NGOs are but where people continue to flee. Some of them were shot by ISIS as they fled. Here, they wait all night for transportation in freezing conditions with minimal supplies. On Monday, we did our own ambulance service and saved a boy and a mom shot in the head. We also had a little girl who had been shot in the stomach but she died on the way. So far, five children and one young woman have died here due to the lack of care. We treat many wounded people every day and still more come.

The situation is critical and we believe it would be immoral to leave. Leaving would result in more suffering and misuse of help. As we help people here we have the opportunity to pray with many of these ISIS families, share about Jesus, and give them love. Some may not care about that but it is the only antidote to ISIS and so we continue to pray, share and love as we can.

Thank you and God bless you,

Dave, family, and team
